To those not involved in the manufacturing industries, its often perceived as dirty, dark and dangerous. This curtails young people and re-tooling adults from considering manufacturing as a rewarding career. The presentation discusses how technical programs are constructed presently and how Mechatronics is leading to Industry 4.0 education programs. The importance and role of industry certifications, and industry involvement, will be explored.
