John joined Arconic’s predecessor, Alcoa, more than 25 years ago and currently serves as Arconic’s Vice President, Technology & Engineering. His team includes the Research & Development team at Arconic Technology Center (ATC), Global Application Engineering teams, Process Engineer, Capital Engineering and Management, and Manufacturing Excellence. During his career, John has held various quality, technology, and product development leadership roles at several locations, including Lancaster (PA), Danville (IL), and at ATC in New Kensington (PA). Among his responsibilities was oversight for Danville's qualifications as a supplier to Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan and Subaru. John has held several leadership positions within Arconic’s Global Rolled Products business, including leading the team involved in technology development and implementation of new technologies. Significant efforts under his management include the Ma'aden cast house and can reclamation design and engineering; consumer electronics quality improvement; ingot plant best practices and molten metal safety. John has held responsibility for alloy development, materials characterization, casting technology, fabrication technology, and site responsibility at ATC for aluminum-lithium casting. He has also served as Director, Global Rolled Products Research and Development at the ATC, focusing on R&D projects in aerospace, automotive, brazing sheet, packaging and industrial products, and advanced process development. Prior to joining Alcoa, John worked for U.S. Steel Corporation as a research engineering manager. John earned his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and PhD in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and has two adult sons.
