Help inspire the next generation of manufacturing and engineering talent at the SMX Student Summit during their hands-on competition.
The SME Education Foundation Student Summit event series showcases the high-tech nature of modern manufacturing and effectively fights the misperception that manufacturing is dull, dirty and dying.
Hosted alongside Smart Manufacturing Experience, this one-day summit is designed to provide high school students with their first taste of manufacturing by delivering student-centric programming, keynote speakers, hands-on competitions, technology demonstrations, and guided show-floor tours of exhibiting manufacturing companies.
Schedule of events:

The hands-on competition is the cornerstone of the Smart Manufacturing Experience Student Summit. Produced by SME Education Foundation partner, Ten80 Education, the competition engages students in three different disciplines: Design, Fabrication and Prototype, and Testing.
Volunteers are needed to help five-person student teams’ cycle through three 20-minute stations, earning points along the way. Volunteers will monitor each station by instructing the students during the competition and scoring their performance.
