Sheronda L. Carr is the Vice President of Membership at SME, connecting over 15,000 professionals and students across 130 chapters SME Membership aims to advance manufacturing technologies by providing professional development to enhance the skills of the manufacturing workforce. Carr spearheads initiatives to evolve SME’s member value, promoting inclusivity and diversity to address industry challenges. In 2022, she co-developed SME's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Task Group to ensure underrepresented groups are included in all SME Membership activities. Under her leadership, SME launched the Women of SMART Experience event in 2024, showcasing the valuable impact that women are making in the manufacturing industry and the community. Previously, Carr held key roles at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) including Executive Director of Customized Member Services and Executive Director of the NAHB Professional Women in Building Council. There, she managed networks of over 25,000 trade professionals who innovate and build communities to foster the American dream of housing. Prior to NAHB, she led business development and marketing initiatives at Legion Design Campbell & Associates, a structural engineering firm, and enhanced relationships with government agencies and minority enterprises.  She is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Bowie State University and an MBA from Strayer University.
